    One World, Several Books, Nothing Forgotten Between Them

    A series in Write in a Click groups your books in reading order, with a title, tagline, description, cover and planned number of books. Story Hub entries can be shared across the series, so a character exists once for every book. Robin carries the series along: when you ask about book three, it knows the series description and summaries of the earlier books, including their plots, character arcs, changes to the world and unresolved threads. You can export the whole series as one omnibus file or a ZIP with one file per book. Creating a series is on the Pro plan.

    By book three, the series bible is the hardest document you own. It is out of date the moment you finish a draft, and it lives somewhere other than the books. A series here is the books themselves, in order, with a shared Story Hub and a memory of what each book changed.

    Create the series

    On the Book Series page, choose "Create Series": a title, and optionally a tagline, description, cover image and planned number of books.

    Add the books

    "Add book" puts an existing book in the series. Drag to set the reading order; the series renumbers every book from 1.

    Share the world

    Switch the Story Hub scope to "This series" to keep characters, places and rules that belong to every book.

    Export the set

    "Export series…" builds one omnibus file or a ZIP bundle in EPUB, PDF, DOCX, plain text or Markdown.

    Setting up a series

    The Book Series page says what it is for: "Group related books together so your characters, world, and timeline stay consistent." "Create a new series" asks for a Series title, then a Tagline, a Description, a Cover image (PNG, JPG, WEBP or GIF, up to 10 MB) and a Planned number of books, all optional. The description is worth writing properly: Robin can read it when you work on later books in the series.

    On the series page, "Reading order" lists the books. Drag to reorder, and the series renumbers every book from 1. "Add book" brings in another of your books, and "Remove from series" takes one out without deleting it. The series menu has "Edit series", "Export series…" and "Move to trash".

    A series bible that is the books

    The Story Hub has a scope switch: This book, This series and Workspace. Entries kept at series scope belong to every book in the series. The protagonist's eye colour, the rules of the magic, the map of the capital: written once, available in every book.

    Each book in the series has a summary, which is what Robin reads about it. If a summary falls out of date, "Refresh" updates it.

    Robin remembers the earlier books

    When you ask Robin, your story partner, about a book in a series, it sees the series title and description and summaries of the books before this one: the logline, the plot, how each character changed, what changed in the world, and the threads left unresolved. So "would she still trust him after the harbour?" gets an answer that knows what happened at the harbour two books ago.

    Exporting the whole series

    "Export series…" offers five formats, EPUB (readers, Kindle, Apple Books), PDF (print-ready), DOCX (Word, editing), Plain text and Markdown, and two ways to package them. "Omnibus" gives one file with every book in reading order. "Bundle" gives a ZIP with one file per book. Press "Start export", and the file arrives in your Jobs panel.

    What It Does Not Do

    • Creating a series needs the Pro plan.

    • If you move off Pro, existing series can still be viewed, edited and reordered, but new ones cannot be created.
